"Crush Get No Respect"

It was a frigid night in Bozeman as the Mighty Blue took to the pond for yet another meeting with rookie team; "The Filthy's". Team Orange tried their hardest early in the game, but to no avail. The Crush vets were observed sharing hits from the oxygen tank on the bench as they watched goaltender, Chewbaka, shut out the Filthy's in the first. Two lucky breaks found the opposing defense out of position and the Crush capitalized. The first was a stiff wrister from Edmunds and the second a baseball style tally from Levi. He actually tattooed the biscuit out of mid air as the puck seemed to hover over the crease. Plays like this is what takes Crush hockey to a whole 'nother level. The period ended with the Crush on top 2-0, but the Filthy's weren't done trying just yet. This reporter actually heard words of encouragement from the orange bench...this like, "C'mon guys, let's keep it up" and "I think we have a chance". I too would have been optimistic. With stand in tender and former graduate of the Crush development program, Nacho Gomez, who would be confident. I would like to take a second to give this meatball with goalie skates proper recognition. He has had quite the season versus the Crush. He tends to skate out against Ol' Blue and is often overlooked. At first glance one might think, what is this clown going to do, he can barley stand up....well that is exactly the look he is going for. Once the Titanic crosses the blue he turns into a toe drag factory....whoop....whoop.....GOAL. I usually take two games off from blogging after this type of selfish display, but let's call a spade a spade and get along with the season. Gomer can't beat the Crush single handed, as he has tried on multiple occasions. Now if there was a full bench of Gomez's....hmmm..scary. Stay tuned later when Gomez poops his pants and Bart scores...GLORIOUS. I have have actually seen goalies seek early retirement after being lit up by "Boom Boom". Can you imagine, 220lbs of gut with skates going top shelf? How embarrassing.

Aight, second period....Levi from Darby......Darby from Levi. "Thanks for the pass Darby". "You're welcome, thanks for the pass Levi". 4-0 Crush headed into the third.

Any beer leaguer knows that a four goal lead is nothing to bet the farm on. The Crush were nervous, and you could see it on the bench between periods. It looked like a shift change at the mill. Thank god for the three towering bins off brew waiting in the locker room... That, plus the glorious MVP stick and the not so glorious "Buffalo" trophy. Hairy T. was on a mission to pass the buff, so to speak, as he has flaunted this gigantor masterpiece for three consecutive games. Just a quick visual...the buffalo trophy is actually a large framed painting of a buffalo head. Edmunds expressed disgust to Bart early in the first, accusing selfish play and threatening the dreaded buffalo. In Bart's defense...He dropped a boomer on net during a power play while Edmunds was "allegedly" camped out back door. Bart commented later, "I saw him over there, but he definately wasn't back door. It appeared he was closer to the far hash marks". Water under the buffalo at this point. Bart has secured the hideous prize yet again. You are welcome, by the way, Levi. Mr. Toe-Drag McShuggy himself. Edmunds, Filty's, Levi, Bart, Filthy's....GAME OVER.
